Lyndell E. (Myers) Meyers

Lyndell E. Meyers, 85, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Monday morning, December 26, 2022 at Menno Haven Village Square.  Born September 7, 1937 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Cornelius and Edna Hawbaker Myers.  She was a 1955 graduate of the former St. Thomas High School.  A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. Meyers enjoyed being a farm wife and helping her husband on the family farm.  She was a member of Antrim Brethren In Christ Church and the Berean Sunday School Class.  She was an excellent cook and enjoyed traveling to Florida, collecting antiques, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and in her later years was an active participant in the various activities at Village Square.  Her husband, Mark W. Meyers, whom she married October 14, 1961, preceded her in death on May 17, 2013.

She is survived by four children, Carolyn S. George and husband Travis of Greencastle, Alan L. Meyers and wife Kendra of Greencastle, Ivan R. Meyers and wife Mishele of Greencastle, and Beth A. Halsey and husband Adam of Water Mill, NY; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by a brother, Garnet Myers and wife Katy of St. Thomas, and a sister Janet Rosenberry and husband Marlin of Stephens City, VA.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 30, 2022 at Antrim Brethren In Christ Church, 24 Kauffman Road East, Chambersburg, PA.  Pastors Casey Hurst and Garnet Myers will officiate.  Interment will follow at Brown’s Mill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday at the church.

The family requests the omission of flowers and suggest contributions in her memory be made to the Menno Haven Employee Appreciation Fund, 2055 Scotland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA  17201.
