Olga Yvonne Clark Woodfin, age 94, a resident of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Sherwood, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday evening May 30, 2015
under care of Heartland Hospice.
She was born September 1, 1920 outside Nashville, AK, in the Antioch community, Hempstead County Arkansas and was one of eight children of the late Rodolphus “Dolph” and Nora Lee (Compton) Clark. She married her husband the late James Locke Woodfin in 1945 of Holly Grove, AR.
Yvonne devoted her life to her Lord and Savior. Her greatest pleasure besides her role of a devoted wife and mother was her commitment to her church. Yvonne Clark Woodfin met the Lord at an early age in Antioch Baptist Church Nashville, AR. She and her husband Jim served the Lord diligently all over the country from Camden, AR, McAlester, OK, charter members of Country and Town Baptist Church Camp Hill, PA, Cullendale, AR to Sherwood First Baptist Church since 1972 having served as Sunday School teacher and member of the adult choir for nearly 40 years.
Her additional passions included quilting, gardening and she was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan since she was an aunt to owner Jerry Jones.
Surviving family include two daughters, Janie Lee Woodfin Martin of Pennsylvania, Susan Yvonne Woodfin Rogers (husband Ronald S. Rogers) of Kansas, four grandchildren, Erica Martin Gembe (husband Gregory Gembe), James Lance Martin, Justin Autumn Bowles and NoraLee Yvonne Bowles; 4 great grandchildren, one sister Christine Clark Sleeker of Michigan and one brother Dolph Clark Jr. of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by a brother David Clark, four sisters, Theara King, Edna Hyatt, Helen Clark, Arminita Jones, sister.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Nashville, AR. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.zimmermanfh.com. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
