William A. White
William A. White, age 94, a resident of the Shook Home of Chambersburg and formerly of Angle Rd. Chambersburg died at 1:55 PM Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born May 12, 1922 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late James and Florence (Bright) White. He married Edith E. (Barron) White in 1966. She died on August 31, 2008.
William retired from the Unisys Co. having worked in the accounting department. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Chambersburg and last attended the Greencastle Presbyterian Church.
William was a US Army veteran of World War II having served in the South Pacific Theatre.
Surviving family are his wife Emma (Keefer) White whom he married in 2009, a step-daughter, Kelley Martin and her husband Stephen Jr. of Fayetteville, PA, a step-grandson Michael Martin and a nephew, Edward J. Wiley of Philadelphia.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a sister Betty Wiley.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 12 at 2:00 PM at the Central Presbyterian Church 40 Lincoln Way West Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Christine Callaway officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. Burial will be in the Norland Cemetery in Chambersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Greencastle Presbyterian Church 57 West Baltimore St. Greencastle, PA 17225.
