William K. "Mr. Bill" Snider

William K. “Mr. Bill” Snider, age 85, of Williamson, PA died at his home on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.

Born December 8, 1935 in Williamson, PA, he was the son of the late W. Paul and Ruth (Kunkle) Snider. He married his wife Phyllis J. (Stumbaugh) Snider on June 17, 1956 in the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Williamson. She died on March 21, 2021.

Mr. Bill was the former owner and current employee of the Snider’s Elevator in Williamson and Lemasters and never retired.  He was an active member of the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and member of the Williamson Ruritan.  He was a graduate of St. Thomas High School.  Mr. Bill was known for his legendary work ethic, his sense of humor, and stories about local history.

Mr. Snider was a US Army veteran serving from 1958- 1960. He restored his Army jeep, he enjoyed working at Snider’s Elevator, talking with his customers and caring for the beautiful fish pond at the business.

Surviving family are one daughter, Susan Snider of St. Thomas, PA; one son, Paul (Jackie) Snider of Wilmington, NC and two grandchildren, Jennifer and James.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 25 at 10:00 AM at the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church, 24 Kauffman Road East Chambersburg with Rev. Alan Wilson officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Chambersburg VFW Post #1599 Honor Guard will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 PM and one hour before the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Mason Dixon Warrior Adventures 261 Thorton Dr. McConnellsburg, PA 17233 or to the Tuscarora Wildlife Education Project (TWEP) P.O.
