William M. Shew

William M. "Bill" Shew, age 79 of 5296 Bino Rd. Greencastle, PA. died at 1:45 P.M. Tuesday September 6, 2011 in ManorCare Health Services Chambersburg, PA. where he had resided for the past several weeks.

Born August 27, 1932 in Waynesboro, PA., he was the son of the late William Edward and Susan Lucille (Helman) Shew.

He married Mary Louise (Mummert) Shew in February 1950.

Bill retired from Grove Worldwide of Shady Grove and had also worked at the former Kesselring Meats on Hill Rd. Greencastle. He was a life member of the Rescue Hose Co. # 1 of Greencastle and was a member of the Greencastle Foursquare Church. Bill enjoyed listening to bluegrass music.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are two sons Robert M. and wife Kitty Shew of Waynesboro, Kenneth G. and wife Sharon Shew of Greencastle, one granddaughter Allison Shew, two sisters, Helen Minnich of Waynesboro and Hilda Reese of Greencastle. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son William M. Shew Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Friday September 9 at 1:00 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Vic Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Antietam (Prices) Cemetery of Waynesboro. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Friday.
