William J. Kuykendall

William J. Kuykendall, age 101, of Greencastle, PA, passed away at the Chambersburg Hospital on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. Born in Moorfield, WV, he was the son of the late William and Winifred Halterman Kuykendall.

Mr. Kuykendall served honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greencastle, The Greencastle American Legion, and the Waynesboro VFW. He retired from the former Frick Company of Waynesboro, PA in 1987, after 30 years as a welder and Pipefitter.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna Griffin of Chambersburg, PA and Deborah Snider (husband David) of Ft. Loudon, PA; four grandchildren, David Snider, Lauren Snider-Gayman (husband Carl), Timothy Lyman (wife Chrissy), and Tara Gift (husband Gary); seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Bowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Lorraine Hollinshead Kuykendall in 2021, a daughter in infancy, Deidra Kuykendall, and siblings, Arno, Boyd, Kenneth Kuykendall and Madge Swope, Ruth Moore, and Edna Beard.
