William M. "Bill" Finafrock

William M. “Bill” Finafrock, age 99, of Chambersburg and formerly of Greencastle died at 12:10 AM Thursday, July 30, 2015 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born February 15, 1916 in Greencastle, PA, he was the son of the late William M. and Minnie Belle (Beaver) Finafrock. His first wife Ruth (Defenderfer) Finafrock died on March 9, 1966. He married his second wife Mary “Jane” (Hoover) Finafrock on May 30, 1969. She died on April 22, 2007.
He retired from Beck Manufacturing (formerly Anvil Products) in Greencastle.
Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greencastle, a member of the Greencastle Senior Men’s Club and a social member of the Greencastle V.F.W.

In his younger years he was an avid baseball player and in his later years he coached Little League Baseball and Girls Softball.   He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching baseball games and spending time with  his family.

Surviving family are two sons, John W. Finafrock and his companion Marie Thibodeaux of Indialantic, FL, Carl J. Finafrock and his wife Donna of Falling Waters, WV, one daughter, Ginger Sipes and her husband Bryan of Chambersburg, PA, ten grandchildren, Donald Finafrock (deceased), Tracy (Finafrock) Ketchie, Theresa (Finafrock) Ott, Lesley Finafrock, Stephen Finafrock, Jason Finafrock, Josh Finafrock, Jennie Finafrock, Dustin Sipes, Daniele Sipes, five great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-grandchild and one half-sister Nancy Bussard of St. Thomas, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 4 at 1:00 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Stacy Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. and one hour before the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to American Lung Association, Pennsylvania Chapter, 3001 Gettysburg Rd.
