William H. Bowman
William H. “Bill” Bowman, age 81 of Greencastle, PA died Monday morning February 24, 2014 in his home.
Born January 17, 1933 in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late Carl E. Sr. and Emily K. (Konn) Bowman. He married Joan C. (Little) Bowman on September 12, 1953.
He was a 1952 graduate of Wilson High School in Easton. He retired from Strait Mfg. of Greencastle where he worked as the chief draftsman. He previously was a vice president with the former Rouzerville Fabricating & Welding Co. in Rouzerville, PA. Bill served in the US Air Force from 1952-56 and was an avid stamp collector.
Surviving family in addition to his wife are three sons, Terry L. Bowman and wife Brenda of Port Charlotte, FL, Timothy A. Bowman and wife Becky of Hagerstown, MD, Thomas J. Bowman and wife Rita of Greencastle, PA, one daughter Cherylann K. Skiles and husband Dean of St. Thomas, PA and four grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter Cathy-Jean Bowman and a brother Carl Bowman Jr.
There will be a graveside funeral service held at Northampton Memorial Shrine 3051 Green Pond Road Easton, PA on Thursday February 27 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Stacy Crawford officiating. There will be no public visitation or viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to Lutheran Home Care and Hospice 2700 Luther Dr. Chambersburg, PA 17202.
