Wayne E. Weber, age 83, a resident of Penn Hall, Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Hagerstown, MD, died at 7:55 AM Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Menno Haven.
Born July 17, 1932 in Maugansville, MD, he was the son of the late Ira S. and Leah (Ebersole) Weber.
He and his late wife, Erma M. (Frey) Weber, were married November 21, 1954 in Marion, PA. She died on May 30, 2007.
Mr. Weber was a farmer, who also owned and operated a small butcher shop. He was a member of Marion Mennonite Church near Chambersburg, PA. He taught Sunday school and volunteered in mission related work at several churches during his lifetime. He especially enjoyed his time at Booksavers and helping with MCC soap making and meat canning.
Surviving family are:
Two daughters, Sharon Lauzus of Philadelphia, PA and Shirley Migliazza of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Isaac M. Weber, and three sisters, Anna M. Weber, Ida M. Weber, and Cora M. Charlton.
Private graveside services will be held in the Marion Mennonite Church Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 6 at 3:00 PM in the Marion Mennonite Church, 4365 Molly Pitcher Highway South, Chambersburg, PA with Revs. Blaine Detwiler and Carl Kniss officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the memorial service on Sunday. The family requests the omission of flowers and that memorial contributions be made in his memory to SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care and Hospice 2700 Luther Dr. Chambersburg, PA 17202.
