Wayne E. Brown, age 77 of Greencastle, PA, died at 2:15 P.M. on Thursday, October 28, 2010 in ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg, PA following complications from a recent stroke.

Born, November 8, 1932 in Portsmouth, OH he was the son of the late Orlin and Mina (Schuler) Brown.

He and his wife, Virginia "Ginny" (Hetrick) Brown were married on March 23, 1996 in Glassboro, NJ. His first wife, M. Jane (Harkins) Brown died on September 28, 1992.

Wayne graduated high school in South Charleston, OH. He started his career with the former New York Central Railroad and retired in 1990 as director of stations and demurrage from Conrail in Philadelphia, PA. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greencastle, PA where he served as trustee chairman and assisted with the church remodeling. Wayne enjoyed golfing, home renovations, reading and spending time with his family.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are, daughters, Jamie (wife of Joe) Patano of Streamwood, IL, Diana (wife of Richard) Plummer of Boothwyn, PA and Julie (wife of Rob) Chew of Hopkinsville, KY; son, Donald Brown of Germersheim, Germany; step daughter, Beverly (wife of Eric) Lannon of Meadville, PA; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sisters, Emma Jean (wife of William) Coon of Springfield, OH and Patricia (wife of Charles) Lackey of Chambersburg, PA; brother, G. Michael (husband of Patti) Brown of Mechanicsburg, PA; sister in law, Janice Brown of New Carlisle, OH; brother in law, Ralph Davison of Brookville, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Jane Davison and a brother, Harvey Brown.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 12 Noon from the First United Methodist Church, 45 N. Washington St., Greencastle, PA with Rev. Stacy A. Crawford officiating. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11 A.M. from the Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
