Mrs. Violet Marie Bushey Davison, 101, of Chambersburg, died late Thursday night, February 23, at Magnolias of Chambersburg. She was the husband of the late Joseph Frederick Davison, Jr., who preceded her in death on March 28, 1977.
Born July 7, 1910, in York Springs, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late George Nicholas and Emma Elizabeth Leer Bushey.
Mrs. Davison graduated Shippensburg Teachers College and taught just from college in a two roomed school house in Idaville. Later she helped on the family farm and enjoyed gardening and caring for the animals. Additionally as the selfless person she was, she was the caregiver to many family members.
She was a member of Greencastle Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are three children, Sandra Sue Davison Lum of Chambersburg, Barbara Ann Davison Clever and husband Brad of Chambersburg, and J. Frederick Davison, III, DMA, and wife Dottie of Pasadena, California; as well as seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; former son-in-law Donn P. Lum of Chambersburg; and, a niece and a nephew.
Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Davison was preceded in death by four siblings.
The Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, is handling the arrangements. There will not be calling at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 25, 3:30 PM, at her church, Greencastle Presbyterian Church, 57 W. Baltimore Street. Her pastor, Rev. Taylor R. Camerer will officiate. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
