Mrs. Viola Mae "Dolly" Hollingshead, 71, of 5252 Bino Rd. Greencastle, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday afternoon March 13, 2012 in her home. She was the wife of the late Frederick Benjamin Hollingshead, who preceded her in death on May 6, 1996.
Born November 29, 1940 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter D. and Mary Louise Shoemaker Suffecool.
Dolly was a homemaker and formerly worked at the former Waynesboro Knitting Mill. She also work and may be remembered most as a clerk at the Uni-Mart Store, Mercersburg.
She was of the Protestant faith; and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and painting.
Surviving family are her sons Chad M. Hollingshead and wife Deborah and Travis E. Hollingshead; grandsons, Joshua Hollingshead and wife Jennifer, and Corey Hollingshead and wife Leanna, all of Greencastle; as well as siblings Mary Lou Miller, Greencastle, Teresa Suffecool of New Paris, Paul Suffecool of Greencastle, Rodney Lee Suffecool of New Paris, and Franklin Suffecool of Arizona.
Besides her husband and parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her son Timothy W. Hollingshead in 2004; two brothers; and special friend Sam Rouzer.
The Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, is handling the arrangements. There will not be calling at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at Macedonia United Brethren Church Cemetery near Greencastle, on Friday, March 16, at 3:00 PM. The Rev. Gayle L. Ruble, Sr. will officiate.
