Verna E. (Mowen) Wagaman, age 95 a resident of the Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home in New Oxford, PA. for the last 18 years and formerly of Hades Church Rd. Chambersburg died at 1:20 A.M. Monday April 4, 2011 in the nursing center of the home.

Born March 11, 1916 in Guilford Twp. Franklin County, PA., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Beulah (Dull) Mowen.

She had worked at the Quincy Retirement Home and at the former Carroll Shoe Factory in Mont Alto.
Verna was a member of the Hades Church Of The Brethren near Waynesboro. She was an active volunteer at The Brethren Home.

Her husband the Rev. B. Frank Wagaman died on November 4, 1992.

Surviving family are two daughters Esther and husband Clarence Witmer Jr., Greencastle, Lois and husband David George, Farmington, New Mexico, one son, Ralph M. Wagaman, Okeechobee, Florida, nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and one sister Edna Mae Sheffler, Mont Alto, PA.

She was preceded in death by one son B. Frank Wagaman Jr., one grandson, two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 7 at 10:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Ministers Dean Gearhart and George Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Quincy. There will be no viewing.
