Vera M. (Meyers) Rohrer

Vera M. (Meyers) Rohrer, age 95 and a resident of Menno Haven Chambersburg and formerly of Kauffman Rd. East Chambersburg died at 7:00 PM Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Menno Haven.Born August 8, 1921 in Upton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Elmer C. and Zelda (Friese) Meyers and was raised by the late Lloyd and Rhoda Meyers. She married her husband Donald E. Rohrer on May 30, 1946. He died July 12, 2002.

Vera had worked at the ELM Dept. Store, Sunnyway Diner both in Greencastle, Chambersburg Hospital cafeteria and Mrs. Gibble’s Candies. She was a member of the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church near Chambersburg, the Berean Sunday School Class of the church where she served as the class secretary and was also a member of the Sewing Circle of the church.

She was a 1939 graduate of Greencastle High School.Surviving family are one daughter Dottie A. Hoover of Greencastle, one sister, Mildred Miller of Williamson, PA, three granddaughters, Barbara E. Hoover, Rebecca Hoover Viglione, Debra Potteiger, two great-grandsons, Davis and Ethan Potteiger and one great-granddaughter, Lauren Potteiger.

She was preceded in death by two brothers Arthur Meyers, Bryce Meyers, three sisters, Gertrude Hissong, Pauline Lellman and Leoda Baer.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 28 at 11:00 AM at the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church 24 Kauffman Rd. East Chambersburg with Rev. Adam Meredith and Rev. Dr. Lawrence and Shirley Yoder officiating.  Burial will be in the Browns Mill Cemetery Kauffman. A viewing will be held at the church one half hour before the service on Wednesday.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church Sewing Circle 24 Kauffman Rd.
