Trudy Keller Ensminger

Trudy Keller Ensminger, age 73, of Greencastle, PA, passed away at her family home on Monday, February 13, 2023. Born January 27, 1950, in Waynesboro, PA she was the daughter of Alma J. Keller Hoffman and the late Harold M. Hoffman.

Mrs. Ensminger was a 1967, graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School. She earned her Bachelor Degree from Slippery Rock University and her Master’s from Shippensburg University. A teacher most of her adult life, Mrs. Ensminger worked in the Chambersburg Area School District for 38.5 years where she made numerous lifelong friendships, sincerely loving her time at Marion Elementary School where she retired from in 2009.  She was a member of Otterbein United Brethren Church, where she served on the Guiding Hands Pre-school Board and Greencastle-Antrim Loyal Daughters. She was also involved in the Old Home Week Committee and had served as a volunteer at Hershey Park. Mrs. Ensminger enjoyed summers at Moss Spring Swim Club, spending time at her church, the guiding hands pre-school, taking shopping trips with her sister and friends, eating hard shell crabs, and family trips to the beach.  She most cherished time spent with her family and spoiling her son and grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 49 years, Larry Ensminger, whom she married on June 23, 1973, her son, Ty Ensminger (wife Lindsey) of Greencastle, PA; two grandchildren, Izaac and Savannah Ensminger; and two siblings, Carole Deans of Greencastle, PA; Bill Hoffman (wife Carol Ann) of Finksburg, MD and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Eddie Deans.

Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Guiding Hands Pre-School, 146 Leitersburg St., Greencastle, PA 17225 or to the Old Home Week Association, P.O. Box 536, Greencastle, PA 17225.
