Thelma B. Coldsmith, age 98 a resident of Providence Place, Chambersburg, PA and formerly of 140 Oak Lane, Greencastle, PA died at 7:45 A.M. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in the Waynesboro Hospital.

Born December 28, 1910 in Antrim Twp., Franklin County, PA she was the daughter of the late Ira A. and Mary (Picking) Coldsmith.

She retired in 1972 after 39 years of employment with the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg.

She was a life long member and the oldest member of Ebenezer "Guitners" United Brethren Church in Greencastle. She was a member of the Missionaries Society at the church. She was a member of the Greencastle Women''s Fellowship and the Greencastle Senior Women''s Club. Thelma enjoyed baking and gardening.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Surviving family are three nieces, K. Louise Tice, Gladys C. Doyle and Mary Jane Carbaugh all of Greencastle and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, George F. Coldsmith and brother, Eldon M. Coldsmith.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. from the Ebenezer "Guitners" United Brethren Church, 3661 Williamson Rd., Greencastle, PA with Pastors Richard Mose and David Grove officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Ebenezer United Brethren Church Building Fund, 3661 Williamson Rd., Greencastle, PA 17225 or to The Gideon''s International, PO Box 724, Greencastle, PA 17225.
