Terry Lee Kershner, age 52 of 12548 Ridge Rd. Greencastle, PA. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday November 2, 2011 at 10:46 P.M. at the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. following a battle of AML Leukemia.
Born December 1, 1958 in Waynesboro, PA., he was the son of Charles W. Kershner Jr. of Greencastle and Lois J. (Beeler) Kershner of Chambersburg.
He was employed by D.L. George & Sons of Rouzerville PA since July 2003 as a foreman and supervisor. Prior to this Terry worked for Earthmovers in St. Thomas, PA. for eleven years. In his earlier years Terry and his Dad owned the former Kershner & Son Excavating business of Greencastle until December 1991.
Terry attended King Street United Brethren Church of Chambersburg and was a former member of Living Hope Church in State Line PA and Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greencastle. He was a 1976 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School.
Terry was a member of Greencastle Sportsman Association and was a member of Franklin County Tractor Pullers. He was associated with NTPA where he ran his mini rod tractor pulling team "Instigator" with his brother-in- law from the late 70''s through 1992. He won many awards and traveled around the country to tractor pulls. Terry also enjoyed spending time with his son hunting and his daughter going to car shows. He loved traveling with his wife and friends, doing landscaping and yard work. He loved his friends and family and looked forward to the holidays together.
Terry is survived by his wife Wanda (Stoops) Kershner whom he married on July 6, 1985 and recently renewed their wedding vows for their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary on April 12, 2010 on the beaches of Jamaica. Also surviving are two children, a daughter, Heather Kershner, Mercersburg and a son Bradley Kershner and wife Kayla (Pond) Kershner of Greencastle, three sisters Deb Norris, Chambersburg, Kim Goetz, Mercersburg and Robin Hoffman, Chambersburg.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles W. and Louise (Helm) Kershner, Jessie Beeler and Pearl (Chamberlain) Beeler.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 8 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Les Stine officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 - 9 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Relay For Life-In Memory Of Terry, American Cancer Society 384 Floral Ave. Chambersburg, PA. 17201 or to Hope Lodge 125 Lucy Ave. Hummelstown, PA. 17036.
