Sylvia J. (Snider) Meckley, age 83 of 654 South Washington St. Greencastle, PA died at 2:15 A.M. Friday, October 12, 2012 in her home.
Born March 16, 1929 in Antrim Twp. Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Adam and Esther (Elliott) Snider.
She and her husband Willis Ramon Meckley were married on November 16, 1951 in Upton, PA.
She was a homemaker and in her earlier years she worked at the former Landis Tool Co. and Fairchild Aircraft.
Sylvia was a 1948 graduate of Greencastle High School. She attended the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church near Chambersburg.
Surviving family in addition to her husband of sixty years are one daughter Saundra Meckley (wife of Ivan) Wingert, two grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and one brother Charles O. Snider.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 16 at 1:00 P.M. from the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church 24 East Kauffman Rd. Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Ky R. Searcy officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. There will be no viewing or visitation. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made in her memory to the charity of one''s choice. Arrangements were made by the Harold M.
