Susan (Hartman) Daugherty

Susan Daugherty, age 70, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at her home with her family by her side on Monday, October 11, 2021. Born in Waynesboro, PA, on July 20, 1951, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Kathleen Snyder Hartman.

Susan was a 1969 graduate of the Greencastle-Antrim High School. She worked for a number of years as a data entry clerk at Martin’s Famous Pastry Shop and then at the Greencastle Antrim School District in Food Service. She was lastly worked for Hurley Auctions, which she very much enjoyed.  Susan was an active member of King Street Church, where she was a member of the New Life Sunday School Class and the Silver Saints Supporters. A social butterfly, Susan enjoyed dining out, helping others, bible school, travel, and going to the beach.

Surviving is her beloved husband of 49 years, Roy Daugherty, whom she married on April 15, 1972; two daughters, Michele Hostettter (husband Trent) of Lake Park, GA and Tricia Murray (husband Chad) of Greencastle, PA; four grandchildren, Ashlyn Whetzel (husband Austin) of St. Thomas, PA, Kyler Hostetter of Lake Park, GA, and Grace Murray, and Rachel Murray of Greencastle, PA; a great granddaughter, Chandler Whetzel; and brother, William R. Hartman, Jr. (wife Rozenna) of Hanover, PA; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chanel Beard.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 1 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 South Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Rev. Ron Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 6 - 8 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Brown’s Mill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to King Street Church c/o the after school program, 56 S. Second St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
