Susan W. (Titsworth) Asper

January 21, 1946 — February 17, 2014

Ms. Susan W. Titsworth Asper, 68, of State Line, died Monday morning, February 17, 2014 at her residence.  She was the wife of the late James R. Asper, who preceded her in death on November 28, 1974.

Born January 21, 1946, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late L.W. and Ruth Mower Titsworth.  She graduated Chambersburg Area Senior High School in 1963; and attended Shippensburg Teachers College.

Susan served as office manager of Bill Bowers Tire and Auto Center, Greencastle, for well over thirty years.

She was of Protestant Faith.

Ms. Asper was a life member of Franklin County Historical Society – Kittochtinny, Chambersburg; and member of Chambersburg Memorial YMCA where she participated with water aerobics for over thirty years; and Concocheague Audubon Society of Franklin County, Fayetteville.

Additionally, her other interests included family genealogy and travel.  Susan traveled extensively over four continents visiting many cities in Europe and Russia, South America, and Australia and New Zealand.

Surviving is her son Clayton W. Asper of Greencastle; mother-in-law Florence Asper of Salina, Kansas; her life partner of over thirty years, Bill Bowers of State Line; two grandchildren, Andrew and Samantha of Hagerstown; and a great grandchild; her brother Steven R. Titsworth and aunt Alice B. Mower, both of Chambersburg; as well as her niece Tara R. McNee of Blairs Mills, Pennsylvania, and three great nieces.

The family will receive friends at Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, 45 South Carlisle Street, Greencastle on Thursday, February 20, from 9:30 to10:30 AM.  A procession will then take place for a graveside service be held in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg, onThursday, at 11:00 AM.  Family friend, Pastor Lynn E. Munson of Mountain View Baptist Church, Hagerstown, will officiate.
