Steven N. Barnhart, age 50 of 352 East Grant St. Greencastle, Pa. died at 7:50 A.M. Thursday April 15, 2010 in The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md. He had been in declining health and critically ill the last few weeks.
Born January 29, 1960 in Waynesboro, Pa. he was the son of Donald E. and Joan H. (Hager) Barnhart of Chambersburg, Pa.
He was currently the Executive Of Operations for Antietam Health Services of Hagerstown and formerly was employed at Washington County Hospital. He also operated Steven N. Barnhart CPA services in Greencastle.
Steven was a 1978 graduate of Chambersburg High School and a 1982 graduate of Indiana University of Penna. He earned his MBA from Shippensburg University and was a Certified Public Accountant in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
He served as a Way Station Board Member in Frederick, President of the Board of Healthcare Family Credit Union and was an Antietam Health Services Board member. Steven also served on Leadership Hagerstown, the Greencastle Antrim Baseball/Softball Association Board and on the Boy Scouts Of America Troop #99 Troop committee.
He had attended the Marion United Methodist Church.
He and his wife. Mary Lou R. (Rinehart) were married April 14, 1984 in Greencastle.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his daughter, Katie A. Barnhart, Greencastle, two sons Zach N. Barnhart and Matt S. Barnhart, both of Greencastle, brother Mike L. Barnhart, Chambersburg, mother-in-law, Ruth L. Rinehart, Greencastle, six sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 21 at 11:00 A.M. from the First United Methodist Church 45 N. Washington St. Greencastle with Pastor Stacy Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. There will be no public viewing but the family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday evening from 5:00 - 9:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the education fund of the Barnhart children with funds being made payable to Mary Lou Barnhart and sent or delivered to M & T Bank 643 East Baltimore St. Greencastle, Pa. 17225.
