Skylar Elizabeth Sites

Skylar Elizabeth Sites, age 26, of Baltimore, MD and formerly of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 28, 1998, in Baltimore, MD, she is the daughter of John D. Sites and Julie Miller Sites.

Skylar was a 2017 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School and a 2020 graduate of Penn State University. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, the Penn State chapter of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and was a THON Captain. Skylar was a dietician for Med Star and worked as a fitness instructor at Solid Core. She had boundless energy and great enthusiasm for life, cherishing time with her family, friends, and beloved cats. She ran one marathon, two half marathons, and many 5K’s. Skylar made a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her enthusiasm for life carried over to her love of fitness, nutrition, cooking, and her cooking blog.

In addition to her parents, Skylar, is survived by her companion, Seth Eberly of Baltimore, MD; her sister, Tiffany L. Danzberger (husband Austin) of Chambersburg, PA; paternal grandmother, Nancy L. Sites of Mercersburg, PA; aunts, Shirley Gartzke, Tammy Miller, and Rachel Layton; uncles, Doug Miller and Stephen Sites; nieces, Bre, Makenzie, and Kiley; and her beloved fur babies, Blaze, Cosmo, Phoebe, and Cleo. Skylar was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Harold S. Sites, maternal grandparents, Charles R. and June E. Miller; and an uncle, Russell Miller.

Funeral services to celebrate Skylar’s life will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10 AM at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc. 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 6 – 9 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Skylar’s name to THON at THON.org or to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd. West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
