Shirley M. (Leidig) Young, age 75 of Kauffman Road West Greencastle, PA died at 2:45 PM Friday, July 18, 2014 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born May 28, 1939 in Antrim Township, Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel (Miller) Leidig. Shirley married Glen A. Young on November 12, 1998.

She worked as the salad bar manager of Martin’s Grocery Store in Hagerstown retiring after 10 years.
In her earlier years she attended the Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church of Coseytown where she helped with the Wednesday evening children’s activities. She enjoyed doing crafts and sewing especially making large Raggedy Ann dolls.

Surviving family  in addition to her husband are two daughters Cynthia D. Martin and husband Michael L. of Zullinger, PA, Victoria L. Kennedy of Greencastle, two sons, Gregory A. Kauffman of Greencastle, Curtis S. Kauffman and wife LuRay of Westminister, MD, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one sister Janice Baker of St. Thomas, PA

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service will be held on Friday July 25 at 11:00 AM from the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church 24 East Kauffman Road Chambersburg with Rev. Ky R. Searcy officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 9 – 11 AM. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh .com.
