Sharon Ann “Sherry” (Smith) Tosten

Sharon Ann “Sherry” (Smith) Tosten, age 66 of Greencastle, PA entered into eternal rest surrounded by her Family on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 in her home following an extended illness.

Born August 26, 1951 in Waynesboro, PA., she was the daughter of the late James J. Smith and Thelma Elizabeth (Reeder) “Babe” Smith.

She was a 1969 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and attended Hagerstown Business School.  Sherry was Secretary/Treasurer for the former James J. Smith & Sons Inc. painting company of Greencastle.

She enjoyed spending time at the beach, fishing with her father and shopping. For over 20 years she was involved with the Greencastle Junior Baseball/Softball Association mentoring young girls. Sherry was an avid New York Yankees fan and the Christmas season was her favorite time of the year.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Roger L. Tosten, one daughter, Rochelle Y. Eckert and husband William of Orrtanna, PA, and their children Jarrod, Bethany and Madeline, and one son, Shane Tosten and wife Heather of Greencastle, and their children, Jordyn, Rylee and Brady, one great-granddaughter, Erin, and another great-grandchild on the way. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is also survived by two brothers, Jerry L. Smith and wife Rosanna of Greencastle and James G. Smith and wife Roxanne of State Line, PA.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 11 at 10:00 AM at the Otterbein United Brethren Church 146 Leitersburg St. Greencastle with Rev. David G. Rawley officiating. There will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made in her memory to Heartland Hospice 417 Phoenix Dr. Suite A, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
