Sarah Jane Angle Horst
Mrs. Sarah Jane Angle Horst, 91, of Hagerstown, died early Tuesday morning, February 28, 2012, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village, Hagerstown. She was the wife of the late John R. Horst, who preceded her in death in 1976.
Born September 1, 1920, in Welsh Run, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Estella Smith Angle.
She was employed with Corning Glass, Greencastle, from 1961-1985.
Mrs. Horst was a member of Broadfording Bible Brethren Church, Hagerstown, where she attended the Adult Sunday School Class.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and is survived by her children, Susan Rife and husband Marvin of Chambersburg, Mary Ann St. John and husband Robert of Alabama, and Janie Heidebrink and husband Doug of Idaho, John A. Horst of Hagerstown, and Leo Horst of Williamsport; as well as thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Horst was preceded in death by siblings, Lloyd, Clayton, Roy, Robert and John Angle, Hazel Gearhart, Beulah Angle, Ruth Yeager, Vera Zeger, and Eleanor and Helen Angle.
The Harold M. Zimmerman Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, is handling the arrangements. There will not be calling at the funeral home. The family will receive friends, Friday, March 2, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, at Broadfording Bible Brethren Church, Hagerstown. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM at the church with her pastor Rev. R. William Wyand, and son-in-law, Pastor Robert St. John, will officiate, Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Horst''s name to Broadfording Bible Brethren Missionary Fund, 13523 Broadfording Church Road, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.
