Ruth T. Showalter

Ruth T. Moore Showalter, age 92 a resident of Menno Haven, Chambersburg died at 5:30 A.M. Friday November 4, 2011 in the nursing center.

Born November 11, 1918 in Littleton, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late Milledge and Mary (Miller) Thompson.

Her husband Laban R. Showalter died July 26, 2011. She was a member of the North Side Mennonite Church of Hagerstown.

Surviving family are step-children Harold Showalter, Greencastle, Lewis "Sonny" Showalter, State Line, PA., Ruth Ann Martin, Greencastle, Barbara Frey, Newville, PA., two sisters Rena Landry and Betty Conrad and step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Andrew Bullard and six brothers.

Ruth requested that her body be donated for medical science and research at the Hershey Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at the North Side Mennonite Church 716 Locust St. Hagerstown on Sunday November 13 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Gary Zook officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 - 2:00 P.M. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
