Ruth N. (Fox) Bowders, age 83 of Ridge Rd. Greencastle died at 5:05 P.M. Saturday, September 27, 2008 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David Kipp of 11500 Rhapsody Dr. Greencastle.
Born January 4, 1925 in Shady Grove, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Roy L. and Nellie E. (Koons) Fox.
In her earlier life she had worked at the former Fairchild Aircraft of Hagerstown. She retired from the Greencastle-Antrim School District having worked in the cafeteria.
Mrs. Bowders was a member of the Calvary Assembly Of God Church of Waynesboro where she served in the nursery, was a member of the Women''s Missionary Society and visitation committee and helped with the Missionettes.
She also was a member of the Greencastle Sportsman Association Auxiliary and was a member of the Coseytown Homemakers.
She was a 1943 graduate of Greencastle High School. Mrs. Bowders enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel Music, cooking, spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She and her husband, Paul S. Bowders were married July 31, 1948 in State Line. He died on August 24, 2002.

Four daughters, Donna (Mrs. David) Koons, Karen (Mrs. David) Kipp and Annette Freeman, all of Greencastle and Barbara (Mrs. Jeffrey) Rosensteel, Hershey, Pa.
One brother, Tom K. Fox, Greencastle
Nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Anna Snowberger, Hazel Amsley, Edith Haldeman, Bernice Bowers, Corrine Oberholtz and four brothers John Fox, Olen Fox, Landis Fox and Robert Fox.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 4 at 10:00 A.M. from the Calvary Assembly Of God Church 116 Snider Ave. Waynesboro, Pa. with Revs. Dwan Newsome and Walter Stuart officiating. Burial will be in the Beautiful View Cemetery State Line. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Calvary Assembly Of God Church 116 Snider Ave. Waynesboro, Pa. 17268.
