Ruby I. Ryan, age 86, of Greencastle, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at her home on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.  Born February 15, 1936, in Berkeley Spring, WV, she was the daughter of the late Winford and Dora Bell Householder Weber. Ruby was married to Douglas Ryan, the love of her life, for 51 years, before he preceded her in death in 2007.

Mrs. Ryan was a member of Maugansville Bible Brethren Church. Ruby loved spending time with her family, and many wonderful cherished friends, and playing with her beloved dog, Jackie.  Most recently, she cherished her time being “Namaw” to her three great granddaughters.

Ruby graduated high school and lived most of her married life in Hagerstown, MD. She worked at the phone company and in banking, but thoroughly loved retail work at Newberry’s and Bon-Ton.   She volunteered many hours at Heritage Academy, as well as taught Sunday School and worked as a youth leader at Orchard Ridge First Church of God, Hancock, MD.

Surviving is her son, D. Scott Ryan (wife Doneta) of Greencastle, PA; two grandchildren, Courtney Florentine (husband Kyle) of Greencastle, PA and Grant Ryan (wife Lakin) of Chambersburg, PA, great-granddaughters, Ava Florentine, Oaklyn, and Harper Ryan, sister, Eva J. Murray, and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Charles Weber, Louise Rowland, and Sarah Unger.

Funeral services will be held at the Maugansville Bible Brethren Church, 17904 Binkley Ave., Maugansville, MD on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 11 AM, where Pastor Chad Carter will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 18, 2022, from 6-8 PM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225, and one hour prior to the service at the above church on Tuesday. Interment will follow the service at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in her name, to The Hope Center at Hagerstown Rescue Mission, 125 N. Prospect St., Hagerstown, MD 21741, or, Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd. West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
