Roy M. Ott, age 85 of 265 North Carlisle St. Lot 28 Greencastle, Pa. died at 3:30 A.M. Tuesday, December 1, 2009 in the Falling Spring Nursing And Rehabilitation Center of Chambersburg.

Born September 7, 1924 in Cove Gap, Pa., he was the son of the late Daniel W. and Laura Jane (Rhodes) Ott.

He worked in the body shop of the former V.T. Angle Sons Car Dealership of Chambersburg for 21 years and retired in 1988 from Grove Worldwide in Shady Grove.

He was a member of the Otterbein United Brethren Church and a former member of Ebenezer (Guitners) United Brethren Church, both of Greencastle. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force serving in World War II. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising small animals and birds.

He and his wife, Elena Mae (Sipes) Ott were married November 30, 1946 in Hagerstown.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one brother Richard Ott, Greencastle, one sister Betty Mayhugh, Greencastle, four grandchildren Jason Ott, Shannon Ott, Jonathon Ott, Melissa Grove and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: two sons, Marlin R. Ott in 2005, Dale M. Ott in 2007, two brothers, Carl Ott, Ivan Ott, four sisters Drucilla Carmack, Margaret Johnson, Leila Chamberlin and Pauline Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 5 at 2:00 P.M. from the Otterbein United Brethren Church 146 Leitersburg St. Greencastle with Rev. David G. Rawley officiating. Burial will be in the St. Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle on Friday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. and one hour before the service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Building Fund of Otterbein United Brethren Church 146 Leitersburg St. Greencastle, Pa. 17225.
