Roy J. Martin

Roy J. Martin, age 83 of Brindle Estates, Mercersburg, PA, died at 10:41 A.M. Tuesday, August 25, 2009 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born, April 15, 1926 in Letterkenny Twp., Franklin County, PA., he was the son of the late Wilbur L. and Emma (Burkholder) Martin.

In his earlier years he was a farmer in the Lemasters area. He attended the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church of Mercersburg.

Surviving family are two daughters, Joyce M. and husband Daniel Elliott of Greencastle, PA; Audrey S. and husband Kenneth Shields of St. Thomas, PA; one son, Barry L. and wife Linda Martin of Chambersburg, PA; one sister, Mary Jane Helfrick of Mercersburg, PA; one brother, Raymond R. Martin of Inwood, WV; Five Grandsons and Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Harold Martin.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. from the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church, 6727 Montgomery Church Rd., Mercersburg, PA with Rev. Dennis L. Ritchey officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the services at the church on Friday.
