Roy L. Hager
Roy L. Hager, age 89 of Williamson Rd. Greencastle, PA died at 1:05 AM, Wednesday, October 28, 2015 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born April 18, 1926 in Greencastle, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel S. and Helen (Higgins) Hager. He married Anna K. (Kasphammer) Hager on November 30, 1948.
He retired after 43 years employment at the former Lowengart Tannery of Mercersburg. Roy was a US Army Veteran of World War II serving from 1945 -48.
He was a member of the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post #373 of Greencastle and a life member of the Greencastle Sportsman Association. He was an avid hunter.
Surviving family in addition to his wife are two daughters Mary A. Harbaugh and husband Patrick of Greencastle, Joann R. Strine and husband Ted of St. Thomas, one son Guy N. Hager and wife Rose of Greencastle, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, three brothers, Donald Hager of Greencastle, Harry Hager of Ohio, Karl Hager of Marion, two sisters, Viola Carr of Marion and Iva Black of Greencastle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son Roy Edwin Hager, four brothers, Howard, William, Gene and Elwood Hager, one sister, Jean McLaughlin and one step-sister Judy Williams.
A memorial service will be held on Monday November 2 at 1:00 PM from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Mr. Robert Butts officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the American Cancer Society East Central Division 924-N Colonial Avenue York, PA 17403.
