Rose M. (Casagrande) Hudson, age 92, of Greencastle, PA, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 9:50 PM. in the Waynesboro Hospital following a brief illness.

Born June 16, 1926 in New Brunswick, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Olympio and Ida (Viel) Casagrande and step-daughter of the late Myra (Angelini) Casagrande. She married her husband William J. Hudson on October 4, 1947 in Highland Park, NJ. He died on February 6, 2005.

Rose was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church of Greencastle, where she was a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women.  Rose was a life member of the  Harry D. Zeigler VFW Post #6319  Ladies Auxiliary of Greencastle, where she served as treasurer for numerous years.  She bowled every Tuesday with the Sunshine Lanes Senior League until Sept 2017.

Rose was a homemaker and she loved spending time with her entire family. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, crocheting, knitting, watching old classical movies and the Hallmark Channel, going to the beach with family and listening to music. Rose was a 1945 graduate of Highland Park High School in Highland Park, NJ.

Surviving family are her ten children, four sons, William Hudson and wife Karen Sue of Greencastle, Robert Hudson and wife Julie of Clearwater, FL, John Hudson and wife Pam, Frank Hudson and wife Cynthia all of Greencastle; six daughters, Nancy Fitz and husband Bill of Greencastle, Barbara Wenger and husband Greg of Chambersburg, Rosemary Izer and husband Doug of Greencastle, Karen Elbin and husband Bart of Warfordsburg, PA., Mary Ellen Kibler and husband Terry of Camp Hill, PA and Patricia Elkins and husband Dan of West Chester, PA ; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 3 sister-in-laws, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, step-mother and husband, she was preceded in death by three infant daughters, and one brother John G. Casagrande.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday July 6 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 395 S. Ridge Ave. Greencastle with Father Kyle Sahd officiating. Burial will be at the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday evening at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, where a rosary will be recited at 7:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to the St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church 395 S. Ridge Ave. Greencastle, PA 17225, or to the Tayamentasachta Environmental Project Fund c/o the Greencastle Antrim School District. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh.com.
