Rosalie E. (Papatopoli) Naessig, age 89 formerly of Greencastle and Providence Place of Chambersburg died at 2:25 P.M. Thursday October 25, 2012 in the Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Chambersburg.
Born February 1, 1923, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Genevieve ( DiMaggio) Papatopoli. She and her husband, Ralph F. Naessig were married April 22, 1944. He died on April 27, 2010
She lived in Wilkes Barre until 1948 when she moved to Lebanon, New Jersey; then to Greencastle in 1963. In April, 2008, she became a resident of Providence Place Chambersburg where she resided until her recent move to Falling Springs.
She was a homemaker most of her life and was a member of the Greencastle Senior Center and former member of the Greencastle V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are one daughter Rosalie Grosh and husband Marvin of Gainesville, Florida, two sons, Wayne Naessig and wife Barbara of Knoxville, Tennessee, Fred Naessig and wife Lita of Greencastle; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren and one sister Jenny Neely of Philadelphia, PA.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Anthony, Henry, Peter and Eugene Papatopoli.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 30 at 11:00 A.M from the Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, 45 South Carlisle St. Greencastle with Chaplain John Rauch officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 - 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Greencastle Senior Center, 10615 Antrim Church Road, Greencastle, PA 17225. Online condolences
