Ronald J.E. Mowen, age 56 of Carlisle, PA and formerly of Greencastle, PA died at 12:17 P.M. Friday, March 27, 2015 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born July 1, 1958 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Eldon S. and Arlene E. (Hoover) Mowen.
He worked in construction work most of his life but he had also worked at Carlisle Container Co. and in his younger years at the former Acme Abattoir in Greencastle. Ronald attended Greencastle-Antrim High School with the Class of 1976. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and riding his bike.
Surviving family are one son Ron W. Mowen and wife Misty of Cumming, GA, two grandchildren, Caydin Mowen and Bryson Mowen, four sisters, Sharon L. Stoner, Brenda G. Zeis, Tonya Mowen all of Greencastle and Judy Harrison of Carlisle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Sybil D. Kerlin.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 31 at 11:00 A.M. from the Shanks Church Of The Brethren Cemetery near Greencastle with Pastor Gayle L. Ruble Sr. officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle on Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
