Mr. Ronald Lee Webb, Sr., 71, of Greencastle, and formerly of Montgomery County, MD, died early Saturday morning, December 22, 2012, at HCR Manor Care of Chambersburg. He was the husband of Mrs. Mabel Jessica Sudduth Webb, his wife of 52 years.
Born August 12, 1941, in Olney, he was a son of Mr. Hyter Harry Webb of Gaithersburg, and the late Cora Jane Duvall Webb. He graduated Gaithersburg High School in 1959.
Mr. Webb formerly owned and operated Webb Furniture in Gaithersburg; and was currently selling antiques in Antique Crossroads, Hagerstown, and various local Flea Markets.
He thoroughly enjoyed Blue Grass Music; not only listening and strumming his guitar to the tunes, but with playing numerous Blue Grass bands including Dixie Wind where he was the lead singer and performed throughout Pennsylvania.
Surviving besides his wife are his sons, Jon A. Webb of Waynesboro, Philip Webb and wife Paula, and Ronald L. Webb, Jr., and wife Jennifer, all of Greencastle; his grandchildren, Justin, Gage, Kristyn, Nathan and Kadence; great grandchildren, Zoe and Sullivan; as well as his siblings Roy Webb and wife Donna of Woodbine, Sue Eanes of Laytonsville, Hyter H. "Bump" Webb, Jr., of Mt. Airy, and Joe Webb of Damascus; and an aunt, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, 45 South Carlisle Street, Greencastle, on Thursday, December 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Services and inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
