Roger L. Stine

Roger L. Stine, age 50 of Greencastle, PA died at 10:30 PM Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in the home of his sister Linda Cook of Greencastle, where he had been residing the past several months following  a 4 ½ year battle with cancer.

Born January 28, 1963 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of Dorothy L. (Diebert) Stine of Greencastle and the late Max O. Stine Sr. Roger had been employed as a supervisor for 27 years at the former Unilever (Breyers) ice cream facility in Hagerstown. He attended the Greencastle Church Of God. Roger graduated in 1981 from the Greencastle-Antrim High School.

He was an avid Miami Dolphins football fan and a NASCAR Racing fan of Jimmie Johnson. Roger loved his devoted dog Max.

Surviving family in addition to his mother are three sisters Beverly J. (Mrs. Dean) Reihart of St. Thomas, PA, Linda M. (Mrs. Darwin) Cook and Maxine (Mrs. Richard) Saunders, all of Greencastle, five brothers Larry D. Stine and fiancée Roxanne Wishard of Greencastle, Max O. Stine Jr. and wife Katina of State Line, PA, William E. Stine, David A. Stine and wife Annette and John H. Stine, all of Greencastle and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday January 20 at 10:30 AM from the Greencastle Church Of God 4480 Buchanan Trail West Greencastle with Rev. Floyd E. Myers officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. There will be no public viewing but the family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 – 8 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle. Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Greencastle Church Of God 4480 Buchanan Trail West Greencastle, PA 17225.
