Robert C. Reymer Jr.
Robert C. Reymer Jr. of Greencastle, PA died on Friday, May 11, 2018.
Mr. Reymer is survived by his son Douglas Oliver Reymer, of Greencastle, one brother Andrew Ferrel Reymer of Mt. Joy, PA and numerous nieces and nephews in Baltimore, Philadelphia and Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert C. Reymer Sr. and Estella (Myers) Reymer, his wife of 67 years Jean Elizabeth (Oliver) Reymer, a son Robert Charles Reymer III and a brother Jack Myers Reymer.
Bob was a proud graduate of Greencastle High School with the Class of 1944. He graduated with a BS degree in mechanical engineering. He opted for a lifelong career in the insurance business rather taking a job with US Steel.
Mr. Reymer was born on August 18, 1926 in Greencastle, PA and was a devoted member of the Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church just outside of Gettysburg, PA. He served as the President of the Greencastle Old Home Week Association in 1986 and served on various Old Home Week Committees over the years.
He and his wife enjoyed traveling including trips to the Holy Land, Europe, Alaska and Canada. Bob was always proud of the fact that at the age of 10, he drove his father’s Model T car. Bob enjoyed telling the story about the trip to Bedford, PA in the Model T with his wife, that he had to drive the car backwards to get up the mountains.
Burial will be at the convenience of family and close friends in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. All are invited to a memorial service on Friday June 8 at 11:00 AM at the Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church 1865 Knoxlyn Rd. Gettysburg, PA with Pastor Mark Englund-Krieger officiating.
