Robert Lee “Bob,” “Smiley” Myers , age 83 of Mercersburg, PA died at 2:54 PM Thursday January 28, 2016 in the Waynesboro Hospital.
Born June 10, 1932 in Smithsburg, MD, he was the son of the late Ester G. Myers.
He had worked as a heavy equipment operator. After retiring, he then worked with his son Mike for 23 years, working on and playing with cars and motorcycles.
Bob was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, enjoyed his cats and enjoyed going to the Family Restaurant in Greencastle since 1962.
Surviving family are his seven children Robert Myers and wife Angie of State Line, Mike Myers and wife Angel of Mercersburg, Doug Myers and partner Kevin of Chambersburg, Sue Sheffler and husband Donnie of Waynesboro, Tim Myers and wife Marie of St. Thomas, Lisa Danzberger and husband Bob of Shippensburg, Jeff Myers and wife Dawn of Shade Gap, twenty-two grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Mae (Johns) Myers in 1983 and a great-grandson Cameron Myers.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday February 4 at 7:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Marcus Abernethy officiating.
