Robert A. Mellott

Robert A. Mellott, age 78, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Williamsport Retirement Center. Born June 10, 1944, in Wood, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond R. and Alice D. Black Mellott.

Mr. Mellott retired in 2002 after 35 years of service from Reynolds and Reynolds.  He lastly worked part time for Keystone Ford in Chambersburg, PA. He was a life member for over 50 years of the Rescue Hose Company 1, Greencastle, PA.  Mr. Mellott enjoyed hunting, dirt track racing, and street rods.

Surviving are three children, Robert H. Mellott (wife Melanie) of Greencastle, PA, Wendy Fogelsonger (husband Bud) of Mercersburg, PA, and Stacey Mellott of Chambersburg, PA; seven grandchildren, Kyle Mellott, Samantha Farnham, Dylan Newcomer, Shania Fogelsonger, R.J. Fogelsonger, Dalton Mellott, and Taylor Meredith; 8 great grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Mellott (wife Sherry). In addition to his parents, he was preceded by two siblings, Barbara Spangler and Douglas Charles Mellott in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 11AM at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225, where Rev. Dan Keen will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow at 2PM in Broad Top City Cemetery, Broad Top, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Rescue Hose Company #1, 842 S. Washington St., Greencastle, PA 17225.
