Robert Daniel McCutcheon, age 90 of Greencastle, PA died at 1:45 P.M., Saturday, March 7, 2015 in the Quincy Village Nursing Center in Quincy, PA.

Born October 25, 1924 in Webster Springs, WV, he was the son of the late Luster Clark and Iva (Shomo) McCutcheon. He married his wife Ruth B. (Blackhurst) McCutcheon on October 10, 1947 in Cass, WV. She died on July 18, 2010.

He worked for the federal government and last was an inspector general for the Department of Energy.

Robert was a proud Navy Veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific Theater. He was a radioman Third Class having served on the USS LST 1013. He enjoyed the comradery of being a member of the   LST Group of Greencastle.
He last attended Grace Bible Church and formerly attended the old Calvary Bible Church both of Greencastle. He was a member of the Pentalpha Masonic Lodge # 194 of Germantown, MD, member of the Moose and a member of the American Legion.

Surviving family are one daughter Suzanne Ney and husband Don of  Mt. Vernon, WA, one son Robert D. McCutcheon II and wife Debra of  Frederick, MD, eight grandchildren;  Bob and wife Noel, Julie, John, Mark, Rachel and husband Adam, Sarah, Emily, Carly and one great-granddaughter Nathalie.
Robert was one of ten children and was also preceded in death by a daughter Rachel M. McCutcheon on August 3, 2002.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13 at 11:00 A.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA with Pastor Irvin Stapf officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00- 8:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held on Saturday March 14 at 11:00 A.M. from the Arbovale Cemetery in Arbovale, WV with military honors provided by the Pocahontas County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his name to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 11454 Alexandria, VA.
