Robert L. Mayhugh Jr. age 75 of 1995 Buchanan Trail East (Box 54) Shady Grove, Pa. died at 1:45 A.M. Saturday January 19, 2008 in the emergency room of the Waynesboro Hospital following an extended illness.
Born September 18, 1932 in Waynesboro, Pa. he was the son of Anna (Bowders) Mayhugh Miller of Waynesboro, Pa. and the late Robert L. Mayhugh Sr.
He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot Chambersburg. He, along with his wife operated Mayhugh''s Ceramics in their home for a number of years. Following his retirement, he worked at Kenny''s Auction in Chambersburg.
Mr. Mayhugh was a member of the Antrim Assembly Of God Church of Greencastle where he served on the church board and on the sound room staff. He was a member of the Shady Grove Ruritan Club and was an assistant Scout Master of Troop #95 of Shady Grove. He also managed for 13 years Little League baseball teams in Shady Grove and in Greencastle. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and golfing.
He attended Greencastle High School. He and his wife, Mary E. (Rice) Mayhugh were married October 20, 1950 in Hagerstown, Md.
Surviving family in addition to his wife of 56 years are:
One daughter, Sandra A. Breese of Shady Grove, Pa.
Three Sons, Gary L. Mayhugh and Kenneth E. Mayhugh, both of Greencastle, Pa. and Anthony W. Mayhugh of Williamsport, Md.
One sister, Donna Shatzer, Waynesboro, Pa.
Ten grandchildren and Eleven great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Christophel and Joanne Mayhugh.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 23 at 2:00 P.M. from the Antrim Assembly of God Church 11192 Bemisderfer Rd. Greencastle, Pa. with Pastors Renee Berkey and Robert Wertz officiating. Burial will be in the Beautiful View Cemetery in State Line. The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle on Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. and at the church one hour before the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Antrim Assembly Of God Church 11192 Bemisderfer Rd. Greencastle, Pa. 17225.
