Robert L. Martin

Robert Lee Martin, 96, entered into the presence of Jesus Christ on Tuesday October 24, at MennoHaven in Chambersburg PA. He was born September 7, 1927 to Adin Keener Martin and Lizzie (Witmer) Martin.

Robert married Audrey Lee Miller in June, 1946. Robert was a hard worker. Over the years he worked many jobs to provide for his family. He was a plumber, a livestock dealer, a butcher at Cloverbloom farm market and was part of several ventures with family members.

He is survived by his five children, Linda Altizer-McElroy (John), Shirley George (David), Robert Martin (Mary), Ronnie Martin (Kathy) and Pam Frushour. Robert was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Audrey, his brother Harold and two sons-in-law, Tom Altizer and Kevin Frushour.

A funeral service will be held at Maugansville Church, 17904 Binkley Ave, Maugansville, MD 21767 on Monday October 30 at 10 a.m. with his son, Robert Martin officiating. Robert’s grandson, Chadrick Carter, will officiate the internment service at Cedar Grove Mennonite Church (Greencastle, PA). The family will receive visitors an hour prior to the service at 9 a.m. at Maugansville Church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc. Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Maugansville Church for the benefit of a young family battling cancer in that congregation.
