Robert E. Fahrney

Robert E. Fahrney, age 82 of State Line, PA, died at 11:37 P.M. on Sunday, January 22, 2012 in his home.

Born, December 3, 1929 in Five Forks, PA he was the son of the late Paul and Gail (Overcash) Fahrney.

Mr. Fahrney worked as a welder at Pangborn in Hagerstown, MD from 1962 until his retirement in 1988.

He attended the Greencastle Church of the Brethren and was a member of the Greencastle Sportsman''s Association. Robert enjoyed hunting, playing piano, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving family are his wife, Mary L. (Spangler) Fahrney; three daughters, Deborah S. White of State Line, PA, Wanda J. Barnhart of Newville, PA, and Pamela M. Ritchie of Greencastle, PA; five sisters, Erma Harshman of Fayetteville, PA, Ruby Masters and Evelyn Monn both of Quincy, PA, Judy Eck of Chambersburg, PA and Joan Jones of Waynesboro, PA; one brother, Donald Fahrney of Waynesboro, PA; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorraine Barnhart and Betty Richter and two brothers, Richard Fahrney and Paul Fahrney.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 1:00 P.M from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle with Pastor Clarence Spangler officiating Burial will be in the Shanks Church of the Brethren Church Cemetery, Greencastle. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
