Robert H. Bingaman
Robert H. "Bob" Bingaman, age 74 of 3531 Williamson Rd. Greencastle, PA died at 4:25 P.M. Monday, July 30, 2012 in the John Hopkins Hospital of Baltimore, MD from complications of recent heart surgery.
Born July 31, 1937 in Antrim Twp. Franklin County, PA, he was the son of the late John J. and Pauline (Starliper) Bingaman.
Bob worked for the former Valley Bank of Chambersburg and then the former Citizens National Bank of Greencastle retiring in 1999 following 40 years in banking. Following retirement, he then worked for his son for 12 years at Custom Acoustical Ceilings and Floor Coverings in Marion, PA.
He was a 1955 graduate of Greencastle High School and attended Bucknell University, Penn State University and the Pennsylvania Institute of Banking. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the Mercersburg American Legion and the Greencastle V.F.W. Bob was a member of the Ebenezer "Guitner''s" United Brethren Church of Greencastle.
He enjoyed being with his granddaughters, fishing, hunting, feeding the deer near his home and reading western books.
He and his wife, Nancy L. (Beatty) Bingaman were married December 24, 1960 in Hagerstown.
Surviving family in addition to his wife are one son Fred B. (husband of Sue) Bingaman, Greencastle, one daughter Becky N. (wife of David) Nagy, Mercersburg, one brother Lloyd Bingaman, Greencastle, one sister, Patsy Peiffer, Greencastle, three granddaughters, Kellie Bingaman, Hannah Nagy, Elizabeth Nagy and step-mother Margaret Bingaman, a resident of the Quincy Retirement Home.
He was preceded in death by one brother Edwin Bingaman.
Funeral services will be held on Friday August 3 at 11:00 A.M. from the Ebenezer "Guitner''s United Brethren Church 3661 Williamson Rd. Greencastle with Rev. Richard Mose officiating. The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle on Thursday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. and at the church one hour before the service on Friday.
