Richard E. "Dick" Statler, age 72 of 6629 Guitner Rd. Greencastle, PA. died at 6:00 A.M. Monday, April 11, 2011 in his home.

Born May 22, 1938 in Greencastle, PA., he was the son of the late D. J. Raymond and Nellie Blanche (Hoover) Statler.

He retired from the former Corning Glass Works of Greencastle. He and his wife, Nancy L. (McCulloh) Statler were married December 30, 1967. Dick was a 1957 graduate of Greencastle High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He had attended the Greencastle First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors and was known for his friendly greeting and smile.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are two sons Curtis E. Statler, Mont Alto, PA., Kevin L. Statler, Greencastle, one step-son, Douglas McCulloh, Mercersburg, two sisters, Frances Keller and Evelyn Thompson, both of Greencastle, three brothers Charles H. Statler, Robert W. Statler, Thomas E. Statler, all of Greencastle, two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers Donald Statler, Ivan Statler, Carroll Dean Statler and David Statler.

Funeral services will be held on Friday April 15 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Stacy Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Lutheran Home Care And Hospice 2700 Luther Dr. Chambersburg, PA. 17202.
