Reid D. Lenherr Jr., 86, of Lantern Lane Chambersburg, PA died at 8:10 P.M. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in ManorCare Health Services of Chambersburg.
Born December 7, 1926 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Reid D. Sr. and Carrie Edith (Snowberger) Lenherr. He married Teressa J. (Rice) Lenherr on December 12, 1947.
Reid retired in 1982 from Letterkenny Army Depot of Chambersburg and in his earlier years he had worked at the Frick Co. of Waynesboro. He was a 1944 graduate of Greencastle High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
Reid was a life member of the Chambersburg V.F.W. Post #1599 and a member of the Chambersburg Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge # 845. He was a member of the Cold Springs Church, Fayetteville, PA. He also served as a part-time instructor at the Franklin County Technology and Career Studies.
Surviving family in addition to his wife are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 13 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA with Rev. Kevin D. Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Wednesday.
