Raymond Garling III

Raymond Jacob Garling III, of Newville, PA was called home to be with Jesus on Saturday, September 7, 2024, and Heaven and Earth will never be the same. Raymond was born June 9, 1964, in Hagerstown, MD. 

We picture him greeting Jesus with a huge hug ready to worship with his drumsticks in hand. Raymond's life was filled with love, his hugs were legendary and his smile infectious. He loved everyone he met and considered them a forever friend. He loved life and everything in it, but specifically, the Orioles, the Redskins, the Nittany Lions, hunting, skiing and golfing for Special Olympics and listening and dancing to his favorite music. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He knew Jesus and he lived a life filled with his love and grace. 

 Wrapped in that love in Raymond's absence are his parents, Raymond Garling, Jr. and Sallie Gravatt Garling; four siblings, E’Lisa J. Martin (husband Curtis) of Orrstown, PA, Christi Miller (husband Chris) of Harrisburg, PA, Camilla Johnston (husband Mike) of York Springs, PA, and Mark Worden (Tracy) of Shippensburg, PA; ten nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces and nephews.

 Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 10:30 AM at The Meeting House, 1155 Walnut Bottom Rd., Carlisle, PA 17015, where Doug Fisher and Pastor Bob Verno will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the above church and address from 6 – 9 PM and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Private interment will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Raymond’s name to Special Olympics Golf, Capital Area Region, 55 Miller St., Summerdale, PA 17093.
