Ray Shelly

Ray Shelly, age 98, who resided with Samuel W. and Elizabeth Martin of 14121 Paradise Church Rd. Hagerstown, Md. died at 7:00 A.M. Saturday, May 31, 2008 in his home.

Born July 22, 1909 in Upton, Pa., he was the son of the late Aaron B. and May (Meckley) Shelly.

He was a retired farmer. His wife, Mary Ann Shelly died on March 26, 1999.

Surviving family are two brothers, Ralph Shelly of Hagerstown, Md. and Charles Owen Shelly of Florida and one sister Margaret Evans of Greencastle, Pa. and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Glenn Shelly, Fred Shelly, Carl Shelly and Robert Shelly and two sisters Ruth Shank and Janet Eckstine.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 10:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Minister Wayne Rudolph officiating. Burial will be in the Upton Church of The Brethren Cemetery Upton, Pa. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. and one hour before the service on Thursday. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
