Ray E. Freeman, age 68 of 317 South Ridge Ave. Greencastle, Pa. died at 4:45 P.M. Saturday January 26, 2008 in his home. He had been in declining health the past several years and critically ill the last week.
Born November 23, 1939 in Fayetteville, Pa., he was the son of the late Archie and Zella (Blizzard) Freeman.
He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot of Chambersburg and had previously worked at Corning Glass Works of Greencastle and Landis Tool Co. of Waynesboro.
Mr. Freeman was a life member of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 and a member of the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post #373, both of Greencastle. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He and his wife, Esther L. (Stevens) Freeman were married December 13, 1959 in Hagerstown, Md. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

One son, Timothy A. Freeman of Waynesboro, Pa.
Three Brothers, Cleveland Amos Freeman of Waynesboro, Pa., James Freeman of Greencastle, Pa. and Robert Freeman of Huntingdon, Pa.
One Sister, Lillian Monn of Waynesboro, Pa.
He was preceded in death by a son Mark E. Freeman on August 22, 1986.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 30 at 2:00 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Leon R. Yoder officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M.
