Raul “Tony” Medina, age 84 of Greencastle, PA died at 10:27 A.M. Thursday, March 5, 2015 in the Falling Spring Nursing And Rehabilitation Center of Chambersburg.
Born June 29, 1930 in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Antonio Medina and Gerard (Echevarria) Pagan.
Tony was employed at the former American Can Co. and James River Corp. of Chambersburg.
He was a US Army veteran serving in the 634 Armored Infantry Battalion in Fort Hood Texas during the Korean War.
Surviving family are three sons Evert Medina and wife Rebecca of Reading, PA, Walter Medina and wife Wyneen of Greencastle and Tony Medina and wife Connie of Tennessee, three brothers, Biebenido Medina of Puerto, Rico, Abraham Medina and Junior Medina, both of New York, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, his former wife Mary Medina of Greencastle, and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 10 at 11:00 A.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Paul Hutchinson officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Honor Guard Post #1599 will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Tuesday.
